Day 16 15 Aug 2009
Author: TarynLocation: West End, Tortola
Today was our final day in the BVI. We began our day as usual, with loud 80s music anda colorful breakfast of various cereals. Next we sailed to a nearby dive site called the Indians and took a 30 minute morning dive. For our last dive of the trip the water was especially clear and blue, and the fish were especially friendly and abundant. It was amazing, and the trip has been so wonderful! Side note: apart from the beautiful morning dive the rest of the day consisted of cleaning the entire boat.

Author: Jordan G.Location: The Bight, Norman Island
We woke up and the Dolphins tagged turtles while the Neptunes lounged. We sailed to Road Town, ate lunch, and bought snacks. We sailed to the Bight in strong winds, and reached 8.7 knots (about ten miles per hour). We relaxed until the girls dressed up as our staff while they were at a meeting. We ate a dinner of black beans and rice and chopped up hot dogs. Then we had a desert of corn bread. We will sail back to West End tomorrow.

Day 12 11 Aug 2009
Author: TaylorLocation: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
Today we sailed until we got to our dive spot. There was no wind on the way over here. The most the wind was blowing was at 11 knots and was mostly between two and eight. Our first dive was a research dive for our projects. The second was for fun and there was a cool cave and an amazing tunnel that we swam through. Then we went to the beach and after dinner Jim and three other boats came on our boat for a Lifeworks chat.

Author: Anvar Y.Location: Muskemelon Bay, Guana Island
Today was a great sailing day. First we started early by sailing to a great private beach called Lava Flow. It was gorgeous and very pretty. We pulled the anchor down and went swimming towards the beach. After that and a good meal we headed towards Muskmelon Bay. This is where we will spend the night and have our last night dive :-( Yet I am very excited for this dive since we will dive without any instructors.

Day 8 7 Aug 2009
Author: Tim P.Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today, although the weather was partly overcast, it was a good day for sailing with calm waters. We had pancakes at breakfast and started sailing towards our dive site straight after. We sailed for approximately three hours at seven knots. Once at the dive site we went to do a photo dive, testing the cameras. Later we snorkeled for the night dive, which went well and the glow sticks from the tanks of the divers look amazing.

Day 3 2 Aug 2009
Author: TarynLocation: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
All right today we woke up bright and early at 7am. After a happy feast of assorted cereals we talked a bit about oceanography and the Caribbean Sea. We also spent some time talking about navigation skills; eventually we took our knowledge to the test and took a brief dive in White Bay. On our journey to Savanna Bay we jumped in the tropical waters of the RMS Rhone shipwreck. Venturing in and out of the underwater ruins was so interesting! After a PB+J sandwich lunch, we trudged along at a steady 6 knots until we reached Savanna Bay. Funny moment? We had a "diving" contest... although no one can dive?!!

Day 2 1 Aug 2009
Author: Jordan G.Location: White Bay, Peter Island
The weather today was very nice, sunny, and warm. The wind was fair and the sea matched it. We sailed out of West End and made our way around the islands to Peter Island (after we all took our swim tests and signed in). After we anchored we got ready for our basic skills dive. After that we relaxed until dinner. Once we were finished we went over to the other dive boat where we took a review test and met the other group. After we returned to our boat we just relaxed until we each went to bed.
