Day 16 16 Aug 2009

Author: Jordan G.
Location: West End, Tortola
Today as soon as everyone woke up some of us went wakeboarding, others worked on rescue dives, and afer we ate. Once breakfast was done we sailed to Road Town and shopped around local stores, grabbed lunch, and walked around. Afterwards we sailed for a while and headed towards where we'd stay the night. While the chefs were cooking we played a card game. We just finished dinner and now I smell funfetti cake so I suppose that's next.

Day 9 8 Aug 2009

Author: Enric
Location: Marina Cay
We woke up to the sound of Julia's ipod pounding out of the speakers. As soon as all the hammocks were stowed, I took the helm and we motored our way to a dive site called the Chimneys and started our dive rotation. My dive was extraordinary and my dive instructor was great. We saw a couple of arrow crabs and some sweet cleaner shrimp. Our boat is the dive boat so it was a pretty busy day. After the dive was over I returned to my post on the helm and we went on a port tour! Our day ended at Marina Cay after a meeting with Jim. Excellent dive, tour, day...

Day 8 6 Aug 2009

Author: Derek W.
Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we woke up and moved our boat to a dive spot close by called Mountain Point. The four divemasters had to dive and make a dive map of the lcoation. The map had a lot of details that could help divers out. There were many caves that we went in and looked around. The whole day wa sunny and I think it was the hottest day so far. Then the divemasters led open water divers on the same dive as we dove before. The open water divers went on a morning dive.

Day 7 5 Aug 2009

Author: Alice C.
Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Everyone was pretty tired from the beach party the night before, but still woke up early to sail from Vixen Point to here. Everybody then rotated between scuba diving (last confined water dive for Vegas!), sailing Picos, and mooring ball practice, with a PB+J lunch in between. A very strange but memorable hour went by before, involving the word "cupcake" way too many times. Jim came to eat dinner with us on Mexican night, and the food was delicious. We then all played a very interesting game of cards before some went for a scuba night dive and the rest to a scuba lesson. This was a quite relaxed but interesting day :-)

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today we woke up and had fluffy delicious pancakes. They tasted like clouds. After that we sailed for an hour around the Sound. We docked in Leverick Bay for lunch for an hourish. We sailed for another two hours practicing points of sail, and then anchored and began preparing for the beach party. We are about to embark for the beach. Au revoir!

Day 5 4 Aug 2009

Author: Jordan G.
Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today we woke up and ate cereal for breakfast. Then we took our first dive in water deeper than standing depth. Everyone did much better than our first time underwater. Then we did watersports and Allison got up on the skis for the first time. Then we all separated and went on the Rhodes. After the Rhodes everyone had a relaxing day on the beach. We windsurfed and took out the Picos. Then we showered and ate broccoli-cheese noodles with salad and corn bread. Everyone was eating the corn bread off the stern and watched the seagulls eat our crumbs out of the water. Then we had a dive chat and slept. The End.

Day 4 3 Aug 2009

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today when we woke up we started sailing and headed to the Baths, where we jumped off rocks into the water, ventured through caves, and climbed up rocks. The view was gorgeous. Later on we docked at Spanishtown and grabbed lunch and shopped around the town. Once we were through we sailed to our next stop and ate dinner, had a scuba class, and bunked at Vixen Point for the night.

Day 3 2 Aug 2009

Author: Alex M.
Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
For once it didn't rain overnight, meaning everyone awoke in good spirits. After a delicious breakfast of eggs, people on Vega went to shore, did a bit of hiking and windsurfing, then moved over for the first confined water dive. Everyone completed loads of diving skills and headed back to the boat for lunch. Meanwhile, Quest joined the Lifeworks boat Natasha then went to the national park on Virgin Gorda that had an old copper mine on it. There they talked with a ranger learning about the history of the area, then did a beach cleanup. After lunch we went wakeboarding, waterskiing, and kneeboarding.
